Our story began in Peterborough during the summer of 2016. The two of us were both attending Trent University and spending our summer living next door to one another. The very first time we met we were both on our balconies listening to music and enjoying the sun. Our music was loud and competing with one another's until Michaela decided Ruthvik's taste in music was better so she called out across the balcony for him to come join her and her roommate (current Maid of Honour Meagan). Once the party's combined there was no going back. We spent that summer as really close friends, each day Ruthvik would come over and we'd eat great food, listen to music and go on adventures around the city.

Our first date consisted of Pokémon GO hunting in the park, where we stopped for ice-cream and captured cool Pokémon and each other's hearts. It was a matter of day's before we decided we wanted to be girlfriend and boyfriend.

The following 7 years flew by and our relationship only grew stronger. We've travelled to Alberta, Bermuda, Jamaica, France, Netherlands and Belgium together but there's no place we'd rather be than by each other's side.

We took a trip to France for our 7 year anniversary and to spend time with family. Michaela spent a year living in France with her brother Matt and his family. She wanted to show Ruthvik her favourite spots and had a surprise for him in mind. She rented a house boat in Paris on the Seine River and at sunset proposed to Ruthvik with antique rings made by our friend Rohan and a custom made Pokémon card. His response was "Yes, Yes a million times!" ... and the rest is history!

Now we are counting down the days until we can celebrate our love with all of our closest family and friends!
